UpdateAll

Privacy Policy

UpdateAll doesn't collect, store, or share any personal data. It checks for updates with tools already on your PC and keeps everything on your computer.

Effective November 5, 2026

The short version

No servers of its own

UpdateAll has no backend. It never sends information about you or your PC to me or anyone else.

No tracking

No analytics, no ads, no crash reports, and no third-party SDKs.

No account

There's nothing to sign up for, and UpdateAll never asks for your name, email, or location.

Logs stay local

A small troubleshooting log and your theme choice are saved on your computer, and only you can see them.

The details

How UpdateAll finds updates

UpdateAll runs tools that are already on your PC and shows you what they report:

  • Windows Update, built into Windows, for system and driver updates.
  • Windows Package Manager (winget), included with App Installer, for installed apps.
  • npm and pip, only if Node.js or Python is installed, for developer packages.

Those tools contact their own services to check for and download updates: Microsoft, the winget community repository, the npm registry, and the Python Package Index. Their own privacy policies cover those connections. UpdateAll doesn't add anything about you to them.

What UpdateAll saves

UpdateAll saves two things in your Windows user profile:

  • A troubleshooting log of scans and installs: package names, versions, and whether each install worked. It's capped at about 3 MB and replaces its oldest entries.
  • Your theme choice, light or dark.

Neither one leaves your computer.

What UpdateAll shares

Nothing. UpdateAll doesn't share or sell data with anyone, because it never has any data to share.

License terms and permissions

When you choose to update a package, winget and Windows Update accept that package's license terms on your behalf. UpdateAll tells you this before it installs anything. Windows asks for your permission before system and driver updates are installed. UpdateAll never restarts your PC on its own.

Microsoft Store

If you install UpdateAll from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft handles the download, updates, and any data it collects as part of the Store. That is covered by the Microsoft Privacy Statement. I don't receive personal information about you from Microsoft.

Children

UpdateAll doesn't collect information from anyone, including children under 13.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling UpdateAll from the Microsoft Store removes the app along with its log and settings. If you ran it from source, delete the UpdateAll folder in %LOCALAPPDATA%.

Changes

If this policy changes, I'll update it here and change the date at the top.
